Bridge to Resilience is committed to being usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. Accessibility was built in from the start, not added later.
What we've done
- Readable fonts and strong color contrast between text and background.
- A clear heading structure (one H1 per page, then H2 and H3) so screen readers can navigate.
- A "Skip to main content" link and clear, visible keyboard focus outlines.
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Navigation that works with a keyboard, and menus that can be closed with the Escape key.
- Respect for the "reduce motion" setting — animations are minimized for people who prefer that.
- A layout that adapts down to small mobile screens.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never "finished." We welcome reports of anything that's hard to use — please tell us through the Get Involved page and we'll work to fix it.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where reasonably achievable.
