Our Story
This library was created by a high school student who wanted to give coaches and mentors something practical to use — because caring about a young person's wellbeing isn't always enough on its own; sometimes you need the right words, the right approach, or just a place to start.
Mission
To equip coaches, mentors, and youth-serving programs with practical, evidence-informed tools that support young people's emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Vision
A world where every young person has access to an adult who is equipped, confident, and supported in helping them thrive.
Guiding Principles
- Practical over theoretical — every resource should be usable in a real conversation.
- Evidence-informed — grounded in credible, trusted sources, not guesswork.
- Living, not static — this library grows based on feedback from the coaches who use it.
- Accessible to all — free, open, and not tied to any single organization.
Why We Created This Library
Many coaches and mentors are deeply caring but under-resourced — without formal clinical training, but still on the front lines of a young person's daily life. This library exists to close that gap with clear, usable guidance.
Who This Library Serves
Coaches, mentors, youth program staff, young people themselves, and anyone in a consistent supportive role with youth — particularly those without a clinical background who want to respond well and know when to bring in more support.
How This Library Was Developed
Each section was researched from credible, publicly available sources — including federal health agencies, established youth-development organizations, and evidence-informed worksheet publishers — and organized into a practical, ready-to-use format.
Evidence Review Process
Sources are chosen for credibility and relevance: government health agencies (SAMHSA, CDC, NIMH), established juvenile justice and youth development organizations (OJJDP), and reputable, professionally used worksheet publishers. Licensing terms are checked and followed for every third-party resource referenced.
Educational Disclaimer
This library is educational in nature and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or clinical care. Coaches and caregivers should always follow their own program's policies and refer to professional support when needed.
